Plan Commission approves special use and minor site plan for heavy motor vehicle repair facility at 250 Alderman Avenue
At the March 25, 2026 Wheeling Plan Commission meeting (6:30 p.m., Wheeling Village Hall), the Commission approved Docket PSU25-0004 (special use) and Docket PSPMIN26-0002 (minor site plan) for Old World Granite/VA Prime to operate a heavy motor vehicle repair shop at 250 Alderman Avenue, subject to conditions including removal of a non-permitted exterior structure, parking-striping by June 1, 2026, all service performed inside the building, use of six designated heavy-vehicle stalls only for repair pick-up/waiting (no long-term storage or salvage), required building permits, business license, and sign permit. The approvals passed unanimously with six affirmative votes (Commissioner Karl absent). Other business: staff advised petitioners to contact Economic Development Director Len Becker about a tax incentive question; neighboring north property is being demolished with no planned reuse. The meeting also noted Wheeling High School mock trial success and an upcoming Greek Joynt ribbon cutting.
