City Plan Commission recommends zoning amendment to allow Social Service Facility at Legacy Lofts (1536-1540 W. North Ave)

At the December 1, 2025 City Plan Commission meeting in the 1st Floor Boardroom, commissioners (6 present, 1 excused) approved the Nov. 10, 2025 minutes and heard a public hearing on Ordinance 251188. Staff recommended approval and Ald. Stamper supported the amendment to the Detailed Planned Development (Legacy Lofts) to add a Social Service Facility as a permitted use in the building’s first-floor commercial space. FAMILY Matters and Legacy Redevelopment Corp. spoke in support. The Commission voted 6-0 to recommend the ordinance for passage and assigned it to the Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development Committee. Meeting adjourned at 1:49 p.m.
