Bronzeville Advisory Committee (Mar 16, 2026): Reviews revised 1703 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. development; updates on 6th Street redesign, King Drive Corridor plan, DCD RFPs and grant reimbursements
The committee approved the Jan. 26, 2026 minutes, received a presentation on a revised three-story office development at 1703 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. (existing building to be demolished), and heard updates on the DPW 6th Street federal grant-funded project (environmental document to be completed; remaining funds rescinded). DCD Planning reviewed the King Drive Corridor Plan timeline (public engagement through 2026 with Common Council action targeted for Spring 2027). DCD Real Estate noted active RFPs for multiple MLK Dr. properties with March 23, 2026 submittal deadlines. Commercial Corridor grant reimbursements and project completions were reported.
