Council approves event contracts and election plan
The City Council met and approved the consent agenda (with several items pulled), authorized multiple purchase orders and increases for city-sponsored events and event vendors (including photography, rentals, security, printing, amusement rides, and production services), increased a contract for police and fire promotional examinations, and approved resolutions related to parks and other administrative matters. The Council took first reading of an ordinance scheduling a Special Primary Election on November 3, 2026 and a potential Special General (run-off) Election on December 8, 2026, with an amendment specifying no early voting for the run-off. Several votes were recorded as 6-0-1 or 5-1-1 with Council Member Luis Gonzalez absent for many approvals.
