Destin City Council approves $2M FDOT TRIP grant, major development orders; rescinds prior FRS action and rejects short‑term rental software bids
At the October 20, 2025 regular meeting, the Destin City Council approved a $2 million FDOT TRIP grant agreement and Resolution 25-22 for the Destin Cross Town Connector; rescinded prior council action on Ordinance 25-19-CC related to Florida Retirement System membership and directed staff to advertise the ordinance for first reading; rejected all short-term rental software proposals and will continue evaluating options; approved Major Development Orders for the Destin Elementary School Addition and The Shores at Crystal Beach; discussed Threadgill Park parking options with no immediate approval and directed continued negotiation on adjacent property; and moved the December council meeting from December 15 to December 16. The meeting included an annual NPDES/water quality presentation by the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance.
