Council approves 10‑year AXON public safety contract, zoning change to allow financial institutions in M‑3, land sale and project funding
At the April 13, 2026 Common Council meeting in Council Chambers, the Council approved Ordinance No. 2026-08 to add banks/credit unions as conditional uses in the M-3 Business Park, authorized a 10‑year contract with AXON for law enforcement equipment and services, granted an alcohol license to The Back Space, LLC (with Clerk notification condition), approved a Luther Group tax guarantee agreement and the sale of an 8.0773‑acre parcel to Forward Way Industrial, LLC, and funded holiday lights for the South Washington Avenue project and a Community Gym paver project using remaining ARPA and General Fund monies. The Council also agreed to pay a claim from American Family Insurance related to a 2025 DPW incident. The meeting included recognition of Finance Director Kelly Livingston’s retirement and an Arbor Day proclamation.
