Blaine City Council approves routine consent items, development permits, liquor license; considers TIF financing and tax/levy funding options
At the April 6, 2026 Blaine City Council meeting (Blaine City Hall), Mayor Tim Sanders and all seven councilmembers were present. The council approved the consent agenda (with one abstention), granted multiple development-related approvals including preliminary and final plats and conditional use permits, approved a wine and 3.2% malt liquor on‑sale license for Smoke and Spice contingent on a successful background check, authorized public works and water system actions, and debated financing options related to a redevelopment/TIF project (including property tax/levy considerations). A proposed comprehensive plan amendment for an approximately 83‑acre Pulte Group (Ravenwood) site failed on a 2–5 vote.
